Couponing trip #2

This week I was excited because several things I needed this week were on sale!

Here is how I did my trip this week:

**There is a sale for Colgate toothbrushes, Colgate toothpaste, mens and ladys speed stick deodorant, and Softsoap body wash and hand soap. If you spend a total of $15 on any of these combine products you receive $6 in extra care bucks.**

Transaction #1

Buy 2 women's speed stick deodorant (On sale for $2.00 each). Spend $4.00 on 2 speed sticks, Use one .50 off coupon from 7/28 paper.

Buy 2 mens deodorant Speed sticks (On sale for $2.00 each). Spend $4.00 on 2 speed sticks. Use .50 off coupon from 7/28 paper.

Buy 2 soft soap body wash (on sale 2 for $7.00). Use two .50 cent coupons out of paper 8/11.

It totals out to $15 subtract your $2.00 in coupons it comes out to (tax included) $13.63
I had a $2 off coupon from one of my CVS receipts so my total was $11.63, and than you get $6 in extra care bucks.

Transaction #2

Buy 2 gain or tide laundry detergent (on sale 2 for $12) receive $4 in extra care bucks. Use $1.50 off 2 coupon out of paper 7/28.

It totals out to $12.00, subtract your $1.50 coupon which is $10.50, and than use your $6 extra care bucks from the previous transaction which brings your total to (tax included) $4.87! Than you receive $4 in extra care bucks.


Transaction #3

Buy 1 Venus Razor (on sale for $11.29) receive 2 extra care bucks. Use $3.00 coupon out of paper 8/11.

After your $3.00 coupon it totals out to $8.29, and than use your $4 in extra care bucks from your previous transaction which brings your total to  (tax included) $4.64. Than you receive $2 in extra care bucks.

Transaction #4

Package of Bic Razors (on sale for $6.79 each). Receive $2 extra care bucks.

I got 2 of them, the total was $13.58
Use two $3.00 off coupons out of paper 8/11. Your total than comes out to $7.58 and than use your $2 extra care bucks from your previous transaction which brings your total to (tax included) $6.04 and than you receive $2 in extra care bucks.

Transaction #5

PowerAde or Vitamin water (On sale 5 for $5.00) receive $2 extra care bucks.

Use your $2 extra care bucks from your previous transaction and it brings your total to (tax included) $3.25 and receive $2 extra care bucks.

Transaction #6

Pantene Pro V Shampoo and conditioner. (On sale 2 for $7.00)
Use $3.00 off 2 coupon out of paper 8/11 which brings your total to $4.00 and than use your $2 extra care bucks from your previous transaction which brings your total to (tax included) $2.17 and than you reciece $1 extra care buck.

Transaction #7

2 Palmolive dish soap. (On sale for .99 cents each)
Use two .50 cent off coupons from paper 8/11. That brings your total $1.00 and than use your $1.00 extra care buck from your previous transaction which brings your total to $0.00

I spent $32.60 and saved $57.29!!!!

Coupons!

Today I went on my first couponing trip, and after saving $48 I am SO excited about starting this. After having multiple people asking me how I did it, I thought I would make a post explaining step by step exactly what I did. It is all very overwhelming trying to get it all figured out so hopefully this will help those of you that read this. There are so many stores to choose from to do your coupons. Since I am brand new to couponing I am just sticking to one or two stores for now which is CVS, and dollar tree. Below is a link to CVS' store policy on coupons and also a link to dollar trees.

The first thing you will need to do is get a CVS card. Once you get one register it online, and also register the number on your card for CVS beauty rewards club, It's all free. 

After you do that than you are set. The next thing you will need to do is on Sunday go buy 2 Sunday papers. I think I'm actually going to get 4 papers this next sunday because most coupons are limited to 4 per person, but I just got 2 this time. Dollar tree has them for $1 each instead of the regular $2.50.

A website that I highly recommend using is:

That website will help you out so much. The CVS circular is on there as well as in your Sunday papers. On her website if you click on "find my store" and than go to CVS she will have links posted for online coupons for all the items that are on sale that week at CVS. She will also have coupons listed that are in the paper for those items. You will want to keep all your coupons out of your paper even if you don't need them that week because they are good for a month.

At CVS they have Extra Care Bucks (ECBs). The ECBs is how you will save alot of your money. For example CVS maybe having a sale on shampoo one week. Buy 2 for $7.00 get $2.00 back in ECBs for your next purchase. When you do a couponing trip you will have to do several different transactions. Each transaction you will use the ECBs that you got from the last transaction to help pay for the next one.

Here is exactly how I did my trip:

My first transaction was one bottle of Revelon nail polish.

It was on sale for $4.99, buy 1 receive 3 extra care bucks. 

There was a $1.00 coupon in the paper for revelon products. So I used my coupon, and paid $3.99 and I received 3 in extra care bucks. 

My second transaction was another bottle of revelon nail polish. Again it was on sale for $4.99, buy 1 receive 3 extra care bucks.

I used another $1.00 off revelon coupon (this is why you need more than one paper). Plus I used my 3 extra care bucks that I just received from the first transaction which brought the nail polish down to 0.99 cents. Plus I receive 3 extra care bucks. 

My third transaction was for 2 Colgate toothbrushes. 

They were on sale 2/$5.98, receive 2 extra care bucks. So I got 2 for $5.98, there were two $1.00 coupons that I used which brought the price down to $3.98, plus I used my 3 extra care bucks which made the total $0.98 cents and I got 2 extra care bucks. 

My fourth transaction was for 2 Colgate tooth pastes. 

It was on sale 2/$5.98, receive 2 extra care bucks. So I got 2 for $5.98, there were two $1.00 off coupons in the paper which brought the total down to $3.98. Plus I used my 2 extra care bucks which brought the total to $1.98 and I got 2 extra care bucks.

My fifth transaction was for Colgate mouth wash.

It was on sale 2/5.98, receive 2 extra care bucks. So I got 2 for $5.98, there were two $1.00 coupons in the paper which brought the total down $3.98, plus  I used my 2 extra care bucks which brought the total to $1.98 and I got 2 extra care bucks. 

My sixth transaction was for 2 Pantene Pro V shampoos. 

They were on sale 2/$7.00, receive 1 extra care buck. So I got 2 for $7.00, there was a $3.00 off coupon in the paper which brought my total to $4.00, 

Plus I used my 2 extra care bucks which made my total $2.00 and I received 1 extra care buck.

My seventh transaction was for 2 Pantene Pro V conditioners.

They were on sale 2/$7.00, receive 1 extra care buck. So I got 2 for $7.00, there was a $3.00 off coupon in the paper which brought my total to $4.00, 

Plus I used my 1 extra care buck which made my total $3.00 and I received 1 extra care buck.

My eighth transaction was for 2 cans of the Arizona tea drinks. 

There was an in store print off coupon for 2/$0.88 cents. So I got 2 for $0.88 cents and used my 1 extra care buck so my total was $0.00

So all together with tax I spent $18.15

and saved $48.34

After CVS I went over to dollar tree. I just did one transaction. I got 2 bottles of Palmolive dish soap, and 2 bottles of soft hands hand soap. The total was $4.00, I had two $0.50 cent off coupons from the paper for the Palmolive and two $0.50 cent off coupons from the paper for the hand soap which brought my total to $2.00

Just an update

I feel like life is constantly in fast foward and I want to slow it down!!!! There has been a lot of changes for our family since my last post! The biggest being Dustins new job..its def. the best thing that could happen for our family, and we feel blessed and so thankful but it requires traveling and with him away from us its hard. it breaks my heart when kenzie has her melt downs and cries for her daddy and when cash does something new and hes not here to see it. Luckily it won't be for to much longer because were moving with him sometime at the end of July! While I'm beyond excited about this and can't wait I have very mixed emotions about it because were moving 5 hours away....the thought of being away from my mom, all my family, and my friends is really hard to take in. I know the kids and I can come back anytime we want but knowing I'm not just a short drive away from all the people I care about is def something I'm nervous about. All I can do is pray about it and trust that God will put me at ease.
On another note Cash is now 5 1/2 months and growing entirely way to fast!! He is SUCH a mommas boy and beyond spoiled! (yes I know its my fault). He started sitting up by himself a week ago (5/11/11) he still falls over from time to time but he is really starting to get the hang of it it! He is scooting himself backwards on his belly and can pivit himself in a full circle. He still hates tummy time so he never stays in that position for long, and I'm extremely excited to say that he said MAMA for the first time today!!! Words can't express my excitment when I heard him say it!! Dustin is a little jealous that dada didn't come first but I'm sure it won't be too long before he says it! I just recently left Cash over night for the first time with my mom to go to a Womens Retreat and that did not go well! It was a much needed break for me but I won't be leaving him over night again for a very long time. My poor baby cried all night and the next day until I got him (told you he was a mommys boy). He now refuses to take a bottle and is more attatched to me than ever! I think he's traumatized from me leaving lol.
Another thing I'm excited about is Kenzie finally gave up her Binkys!!! Its been over a month now and she doesn't even ask about them anymore! She is getting to be such a big girl and I love her so much! She is still going through her terrible threes but hopefully that will pass soon! Her new favorite words to use in her sentances are especially, and actually, and she now tells me everyday that she is going to be an astronaunt and go to the moon! I'm pretty sure she has one of the biggest imaginations ever for a three year old! I have no clue where she comes up with the stuff she does but I can always count on her for a good laugh <3

Kenzies 3rd Birthday!

Today is Kenzies 3rd birthday!! Its hard to believe that three years have already gone by. To say its gone by fast is an understatement. It seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with her and now shes three! I have very mixed emotions about this. On one hand I'm excited about it being a new year for her, and just seeing her personality come out more and more. On the other its another year that has gone by which means she is growing up! I miss being able to cuddle and rock her whenever I want to and her needing me for everything! She is now little miss independent and this momma is having a hard time with it!!!! As much as I'm ready for her to be potty trained and for the binky to be a thing of her past I know that when those both happen she really is no longer a baby! I never understood why parents always said that time flies by so much quicker when you have children, but I do now and it really does. Thats just life I guess and it makes me appreciate every second even more!!! Yesterday we had Kenzies party at a gymnastics place. She and all the other kids had a blast! They got to run around, jump on trampolines, jump and play in the BIG foam pit, and much more! Seeing the smile on her face made me so happy and she has talked about it all day today! Her birthday party theme was strawberry shortcake which she loves, and her cake and cookies turned out so great!!! She was so excited to open all her presents and got lots of good stuff. I'm very thankful for all of our friends and family who came to celebrate our baby girls big day!!!!
