Kenzies 3rd Birthday!

Today is Kenzies 3rd birthday!! Its hard to believe that three years have already gone by. To say its gone by fast is an understatement. It seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with her and now shes three! I have very mixed emotions about this. On one hand I'm excited about it being a new year for her, and just seeing her personality come out more and more. On the other its another year that has gone by which means she is growing up! I miss being able to cuddle and rock her whenever I want to and her needing me for everything! She is now little miss independent and this momma is having a hard time with it!!!! As much as I'm ready for her to be potty trained and for the binky to be a thing of her past I know that when those both happen she really is no longer a baby! I never understood why parents always said that time flies by so much quicker when you have children, but I do now and it really does. Thats just life I guess and it makes me appreciate every second even more!!! Yesterday we had Kenzies party at a gymnastics place. She and all the other kids had a blast! They got to run around, jump on trampolines, jump and play in the BIG foam pit, and much more! Seeing the smile on her face made me so happy and she has talked about it all day today! Her birthday party theme was strawberry shortcake which she loves, and her cake and cookies turned out so great!!! She was so excited to open all her presents and got lots of good stuff. I'm very thankful for all of our friends and family who came to celebrate our baby girls big day!!!!

Heres some pics from our day!

Road Trip

This weekend we took a trip to Beaumont. What would normally be a six hour drive turned into almost nine hours lol. On the way there both kids slept because we didn't leave until about 8:30. It was a nice and over all quiet trip. We stopped to get shakes at about 2:30 that morning and as we were going through the drive thru Kenzie woke up. She ended up staying awake from than until almost 6 that morning! We got there about five and all completely crashed around six. Cash woke up twice wanting to eat between than and ten thirty when we got up. I was one very tired mommy that day having only had 4 hours of sleep! We took the kids to the heritage festival that evening and they had so much fun. Kenzie rode every toddler ride and cried because she couldn't ride the bigger ones. She ate popcorn, cotton candy, and let me tell you that little sleep and lots of sugar are NOT a very good mix for a two year old!! She had a million melt downs that night. There were other contributing factors to her fits that night, such as her lack of patience to wait for rides and her age. Regardless of how she acted she had a blast and so did we. There was a petting zoo there that she absolutely loved! It had goats, lambs, donkeys, rabbits, ducks, chickens, llamas, pigs, and a baby kangaroo! We stayed there for quite awhile while she went around to each animal giving them each some food. Cash did great the whole time we were there. He sat happily in his sling bundled up. After being there for four hours we were exhausted and my back was definately feeling the effects of carrying cash around for all that time! Both kids slept in today until 11:45 which just showed how tired they both were. I was very thankful for the extra sleep, and it was very much needed! Today we left about 5:15 and the car ride has not been so quiet lol. Poor cash hates his car seat and just wants to be out of it. We still have over three hours to go and I'm hoping after he eats he'll sleep the rest of the way. This weekend was a nice get a way but I'm very happy to be coming home :)

Counting my blessings

Today was a good day. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. My sister in law and I took the kids on the golf cart to feed the ducks. Kenzie had such a good time. She was running after them throwing food, and yelling for them to eat it! lol. We weren't there to long because it got windy by the water which made Cash fussy but it was still nice to go.

I'm currently reading a book called "Choosing to SEE" by Mary Beth Chapman. It is by far one of the best books I've ever read, and I highly recommend it to any and every mom. Its one of those books that will make you laugh and will make you cry. She talks about the terrible tradgedy that happened to their family. The time leading up to it and the time aferwards. God has truly spoken to me through this book and I'm only a little more than halfway through it. Through out the book she talks about how she has always had a certain plan for her life and how she wanted it to go but it has never gone that way because Gods plan was very different from hers. I think about that and that pretty much sums up my life. Never in a million years did I think by the young age of 21 I would be married with 2 kids, but God took my mistake in the very beginning and out of it made such a wonderful thing. My life is exactly how he always knew it would be. My plans are no longer "my plans." Im trusting in him to do whatever he wants with my life and counting each and every blessing along the way.

here are some pics from today!
